interior decoration

2024

Perched above the Mediterranean, this residence is set within one of the most iconic examples of organic architecture on the French Riviera. Shaped by wind, light, and its inseparable relationship with the sea, the Port La Galère complex was designed in 1970 by the French architect Jacques Couëlle in Théoule-sur-Mer. Its architecture, characterized by curved walls, irregular balconies, and organic openings, has become a manifesto of Mediterranean design, where buildings seem to emerge naturally from the landscape rather than impose themselves upon it.

Within this extraordinary setting, the interior styling project was conceived with the intention of enhancing the residence’s original identity, respecting its architectural language while strengthening its dialogue with the sea. Every decision is guided by the desire to allow light, organic forms, and the surrounding panorama to become the true protagonists of the living experience.

Sand tones, mineral hues, and delicate textures evoke the surrounding landscape, creating a visual continuity that guides the eye from the interior toward the horizon.

Natural fabrics, tactile surfaces, handcrafted ceramics, and carefully selected details introduce depth and character without compromising the lightness of the spaces. Interior styling thus becomes a storytelling tool, capable of emphasizing the relationship between architecture, comfort, and landscape.

Light shapes the interiors throughout the day, enhancing the building’s sculptural surfaces and carved geometries.

Furniture, materials, and decorative details integrate naturally into the spaces, creating a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere where nothing feels superfluous and every element contributes to the overall harmony.

The soft forms of the furnishings echo the architecture’s flowing lines, while a luminous palette inspired by the colors of the Mediterranean coast amplifies the perception of natural light.

Large openings facing the sea dissolve the boundary between indoors and outdoors, transforming every room into a privileged vantage point overlooking the Mediterranean. The architecture’s enveloping curves accompany movement and guide the gaze, creating a visual and sensory continuity that reinforces a profound sense of belonging to the place.

The result is an elegant and timeless residence where architecture, decoration, and landscape coexist in perfect balance. A contemporary retreat that interprets luxury through the quality of materials, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep connection with its natural surroundings, transforming everyday living into an immersive experience suspended between sky and sea.
